My 2020 Favourites!
2020 has been a weird and terrifying year for us all and I don't know about you but I happened to have quite a bit of spare time on my hands which I wouldn't usually! Due to this I was able to play with and use beauty items a bit more than usual (I also bought a lot more than usual too but let's not talk about that!). Therefore I have been able to discover a few new favourites over the past year so I thought I would share them with you!
I have always found it tough to find a Mascara that I really love, Benefit BadGal Bang has always been my go to with a few others being used as back ups but never really comparing. However, this year was the year of Mascaras foe me! I found a few that I really loved but this Lancome one definitely topped the list. I found that this mascara is really volumising, lengthens the lashes beautifully and doesn't smudge. It's so easy to apply and coats the lashes easily without making them clumpy and with no need for loads of layers.
I have always, always, always been a brow pomade kind of girl, I've just never gotten on well with brow pencils until I tried this one! I got this in a Benefit set a few months back and wasn't to fussed about trying it out. However, when I finally got round to trying it out I was OBSESSED!! I love how thin the pencil is because it allows you to fill in your brows so easily and it makes them look so natural! I honestly believe that there is a shade for everyone and it is so easy to use. I would 100% recommend this to beginners and to professionals because it is just so versatile and easy to use!
This concealer has always been highly rated by me but this year I kind of rediscovered it and it has definitely been my most used concealer of the year! It has such great coverage, which I have definitely needed for the dark circles under my eyes at the moment! I have also found that it rarely creases when used with a decent powder, a problem I have found with a lot of other similar products I've also used recently. I really think I will struggle to find a concealer that will top this and I am praying that 2021 is the year that Tarte comes to the UK so it is more readily available!
I was sent this Body Lotion during the summer lockdown and really enjoyed using it, I loved the smell and found it really moisturising but then seemed to forget about it for a month or two. I then randomly applied it after shaving a while back and found that it almost revitalised my dry, flaky legs! Don't get me wrong it applies beautifully all over the skin but I can no longer shave my legs without having this handy, nothing else compares! The smell is also so dreamy, sometimes I just open it up for a smell to be honest! If you haven't tried this product/brand give them a go!
Is it just me or do you have a foundation you always use when you know you need to look good? Like for a wedding or a birthday party? Although we've not been able to do much of that fun stuff this year, on the few occasions I was able to get dressed up and do something this was the foundation I immediately reached for! It just never fails to make me look glowy, healthy and just a hell of a lot better! Its definitely full coverage which I love and just covers up any kind of blemishes or texture on your skin. I honestly believe this is a wedding day type foundation! I just love it!
Mac Velvet Teddy has always been my holy grail lipstick, for about 4 years! However, this year I've been using whirl more and more... I wouldn't go as far as to say I prefer it (my sentimental heart won't let me) but I have to say that this shade is just stunning! I've always loved a nude lip but this year I've been edging away from brown and towards pinker tones and this lipstick just fits the bill perfectly. Like all Mac lipsticks it is long wearing, applies beautifully and doesn't flake off easily. Such a great lippie!!
I hope you've enjoyed having a browse through a few of my beauty favourites from this year, I can't wait to see what new makeup and favourites rear their head in 2021! Have a great new year, let's hope it's a better one.
